Good Evening Everyone,
I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year.
My blog continues into 2011 and I am very excited about the upcoming year on and off the golf course.
While I was home I had a great off-season! I did not put the clubs down for long because I knew I had to stay sharp. I worked very hard on my game, spent quality time with friends and family and also was fortunate to meet a great girl who is now my girlfriend.
I left Kingston on January 6th and arrived in Myrtle Beach, SC on January 8th after a brief stop to see friends in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Since I got here the weather has not been ideal. It has been in the low 30's each day and the winds have been blowing. That did not stop me on Sunday from getting up and practicing for about 4 hours. I did wake up on Sunday feeling a little bit under the weather and I only got worse. All of Monday I felt like dirt and was unable to get out of bed. The whole day was miserable as it was also raining outside. Tuesday I was feeling better but was still very weak from battling the flu. Also all of Myrtle Beach was covered with ice so again could not do more then putt and chip before the cold weather had taken its toll on my body.
The last two days I have got out to Grande Dunes to practice. I have been working hard and feel good about my swing. The one thing in the coming days that I will be working on is consistency. I know it is still early but I need to be hitting more quality shots on a consistent basis. Tomorrow I will be practicing hard again and looking for results.
I have already signed up for the tournament next week on the Hooters Tour which will be played at Brunswick Plantation in Calabash, NC. Looking forward to competing for the first time in 2011.
As always I will continue to update everyone on a daily basis with both my Facebook and Twitter accounts. And I would like to tell everyone, please feel free to email me (rkennedy_golf@hotmail.com). I would be more then happy to answer any questions that any of you have.
I would also like to take this time to again say thank you to everyone who has continued to support me as a professional golfer. It means so much!
For now I am going to get back to watching some movies.
Talk to everyone before the tournament starts next Tuesday.
All my best,
Ryan
