Hello Again,
So I played well on Saturday at Cataraqui to advance to the finals of the Men's City Championship for the first time. The final was held on Sunday morning at Amherstview. Though I played well, a couple bad swings and a cold putter did not help. I was down after 9 holes and could never cut into the lead. Sean Lackey played very steady and solid. He more then deserves to win this championship for the 2nd straight year. Congratulations to him.
Of course I wanted to end my amateur career with a win. The Men's City Championship is a very great tournament and it would of been nice to know that my name was on that trophy with some other great local players. That is how golf is and I have to keep my head up, move on and learn from all of it.
I am very excited to say though that last evening I filled out the paper work to turn professional! I have been working towards this day ever since I started golfing. My parents are very supportive of my decision and know that they will continue to be my best cheering squad.
So as of right now, I am playing in the Great Lakes Tour events on September 21st at Wooden Sticks Golf Club and September 27th at Eagles Nest Golf Club. Both of these tournaments are at great golf courses. I am looking forward to getting some experience in pro golf and hopefully can cash a cheque in each event.
If you would like to follow up on my golf activities, my tournament results and schedule, please feel free to add me as a friend on Facebook or follow me on Twitter @ryankennedy87. I am going to start to regularly update both so that everyone can stay connected.
I would again just like to thank everyone for the support and encouragement over the years. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my life beginning and hope that everyone is ready to be along for the ride.
Until my next post, take care.
Kennedy
